Urban Tymes Media’s founder Carey Digsby receives Empowering Lifestyles Weekend Community Service Award
On Friday July 14th 2017 Urban Tymes Media’s founder Carey Digsby was presented the Community Service Award at the 6th Annual Empowering Lifestyles All White Attire Yacht Soiree held at Lake Norman. Brandon Miller, states “this award recognizes the hard work, dedication and commitment Carey has shown to our community and surrounding areas. His acts of selflessness and kindness have proven to embody the true definition of empowerment!
Also recognized and in attendance at this event was Queen City Unity, a non-profit organization that strives to bring forth unity and collaboration amongst all races. Recently the organization partnered with WSOC Channel 9 in the collection of donated food for the food drive, and is working in the planning stages for the station’s next big project, the “School Tools” school supply collection for students. Additional projects and events are currently underway to bring forth awareness to the community of Charlotte and unity as the focal point.
Empowering Lifestyles Weekend (ELW) is the collective vision of Power In One (PIO) Clothing, Fit Bye Pharr Fitness Studio and I Can, We Will. Their focus: to build knowledge and recognition of our brands while uplifting the community, the people and the surrounding businesses along the way.
ELW strives to enrich the spark of community in Charlotte, NC. Specifically impacting youth, businesses and residents towards helping our community, interacting and enjoying coming together.
The weekend, which is from Friday, July 14 through Saturday, July 16, 2017, consists of a Health and Fitness Expo, 5K Race/Walk, All White Attire Gala on the Lake, and a Community Brunch & Local Artist Showcase.
